engage in personal one-on-one support

Volunteers engage in personal one-on-one support with cancer patients and their caregivers. Support volunteers are matched with clients by cancer type, treatment method, life stage, age, and gender. As survivors themselves, CanCare volunteers have the unique ability to relate to and empathize with clients currently undergoing their diagnosis. This bond gives clients an outlet to discuss their personal feelings and cancer experiences that might otherwise be hard to express.

Training Dates in Houston, TX:

Apply to join our mighty community of survivors who lift up and inspire cancer patients and caregivers through one-on-one support.

Due to the emotional nature of the support our volunteers offer, we ask that applicants wait until six months after treatment has been completed before submitting this application.

This waiting period does not apply to those with chronic cancers or who require maintenance chemo for life.
