Summer News from CanCare

Dear CanCare Family,

As we reflect on National Cancer Survivors Month, we are filled with gratitude and  admiration for the strength and resilience of our survivors. This past month  has been a powerful reminder of the incredible journeys our clients have  undertaken, and the hope and inspiration they provide to us all.

We extend our  heartfelt thanks to our donors, clients, and volunteers. Your unwavering  support and dedication enable us to continue to offer comfort and strength  during some of the most challenging times.

We are also  excited to announce the launch of our new podcast, a platform dedicated to  sharing stories of hope, resilience, and triumph. We invite you to tune in,  share with your networks, and help us spread the word about this new  initiative.

Thank you for  being an integral part of the CanCare family. Your contributions, time, and  efforts are truly making a difference. Together, we celebrate our survivors  and look forward to continuing our journey of hope and healing.

With  gratitude,

Honoring the Cancer Journey - National Cancer Survivors Month

By: Kris Kerlin,Director of Mission Impact

Wow – what a month it has been! We have celebrated National Cancer Survivors Month all June long in amazing ways – brand new testimonials on our website, our first podcast, and numerous community events  at corporations, hospitals, churches and synagogues. And we’re not stopping now because honoring people on a cancer journey is something that we do all year  long at CanCare.

Bringing hope and healing to the cancer journey is our purpose. When you’ve been a survivor or caregiver, you can offer something really profound to someone just beginning their journey – compassion and empathy.

We are so  grateful for our CanCare family – donors, volunteers, clients and community. Together we honor all who are on a cancer journey and those whose journey in now a legacy of their life remembered.

If you’d like  to give the cancer survivors and caregivers in your life a boost of support please make a tribute  donation in their honor and they will receive an uplifting  message. Please click here: www.cancare.org/tribute

Volunteer Highlight

By: Daniella Martinez, Client & Volunteer Relations Specialist

This month we are highlighting  our wonderful volunteer, Clara Lambert.

Clara is a stage III Lung Cancer survivor. Clara never says no to taking on a client! She shares her love with others facing cancer because she knows the challenges they are  facing very well.

Clara is a native Texan, where she attended U of H and majored in marketing which led to her career in fashion. Soon after graduating, she  started her own company in image consulting that recently celebrated 40 years  of helping clients create and show the best version of themselves. Clara is an incredibly positive person and believes that how you look affects how you  feel and in turn affects the energy you give. She loves helping people and  has made a career out of it.

Clara is a "plant  mom" and loves growing things in her garden. But sharing her cancer  journey is truly her favorite thing to do. She considers it her “purpose in  life” and believes she survived cancer to help others.

She found CanCare by being a  hospital volunteer and seeing other CanCare volunteers in the radiation  center speaking to clients. She is so involved with the hospital volunteer  program that she is often asked to speak at events and fundraise to bring  awareness to Lung Cancer. Clara is truly immersed in providing support and  shares that “there is no bigger high than to add something positive into  someone’s life”.

When asked about the gift  cancer gave her, she said that cancer has connected her with so many people  all around the US and has connected her with a wonderful community. Clara is  such an inspiration and has clearly found her purpose and CanCare is just grateful  we are a part of her calling.

Honor the Survivor in your Life

Even though National Cancer Survivors Month has come to a  close, we continue to honor the strength and resilience of the survivors we  know and love and know that a month is not nearly enough to recognize them.  Their journeys inspire us and remind us of the importance of support and  community during challenging times.

CanCare invites you to join us in commemorating those who have  faced cancer. Who comes to mind when you think of cancer survivorship?

Your thoughtful tribute can make a profound impact by directly  supporting CanCare's mission: ensuring that no one faces cancer alone.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us make a  difference.
