To our donors, your generosity fuels the hope that sustains so many during difficult times. To our clients, your strength inspires us every day. And to our volunteers, your compassion and dedication remind us that no one has to walk this journey alone.

30 Years of Hope in Every Step
When Pat Hogan-Korge was diagnosed with lung cancer in 1983, she discovered that hope was one of the most powerful tools in her journey. That hope led her to CanCare, where she became a dedicated volunteer, offering support to others who have heard the words, “you have cancer.”
In 1996, Pat’s journey took another inspiring turn when she encountered the Houston Marathon Run for a Reason program. The energy and purpose of the event ignited a passion in her that continues to this day. Since then, she has been a driving force behind Team CanCare, uniting volunteers, fundraisers, and runners to make a lasting impact.
This year, as we celebrate 30 years with the Houston Marathon, CanCare is thrilled to have Pat serve as the Honorary Chair of CanCare’s Marathon Committee, alongside Chairman Ryan Arnold. Through her unwavering dedication, Pat has helped bring CanCare’s mission to those who need it most, raising over $750,000 in support of those facing cancer and their caregivers. Looking ahead to 2026, she is excited to see the energy of the event reignited and to celebrate the familiar faces who have made this journey so meaningful.
In recognition of this milestone, Pat, a Chevron Houston Marathon Hall of Fame inductee herself, has founded the CanCare Hall of Heroes, a tribute to those whose dedication to Team CanCare has profoundly impacted the lives of those facing cancer and their loved ones. Stay tuned as we announce our 2026 honorees!
