Survivor Support | Hope In The Face Of A Cancer Diagnosis

“Brenda called me a few months after my multiple myeloma diagnosis as I was going through chemo treatment. She told me that she was a part of an organization that offered support to individuals that had received a cancer diagnosis.

Initially I was a little hesitant to talk to a complete stranger. Prior to my diagnosis in March 2020 I had never had any type of health problem, so talking about health issues was completely foreign to me. Brenda’s warm personality and people skills made me feel immediately at ease. She has a way of making you feel that she understands what you’re feeling.

She communicated with me before, during and after my bone marrow transplant. She has been able to offer words of wisdom, great suggestions, and a listening ear. This diagnosis has been one of the greatest challenges of my life. It has been really nice knowing that I have a warm person who understands when I just need someone to talk to.

I have a very loving family and support network, however having someone who’s “been there and done that” makes all the difference.
