CanCare is a mighty community of survivors who lift up and inspire cancer patients and caregivers through one-on-one support, empathy and hope.

That’s why we’ve organized over 700 trained volunteers including cancer survivors, caregivers, and medical professionals to provide emotional support, information and resources to individuals facing cancer.

What makes CanCare Unique?

Volunteers engage in personal one-on-one support with cancer patients and their caregivers. Support volunteers are matched with clients by cancer type, treatment method, life stage, age, and gender. As survivors themselves, CanCare volunteers have the unique ability to relate to and empathize with clients currently undergoing their diagnosis. This bond gives clients an outlet to discuss their personal feelings and cancer experiences that might otherwise be hard to express.

Volunteering & Social Distancing

CanCare volunteer matches always have the option to meet in person or virtually. Since COVID, volunteer matches are all done virtually either by email, over the phone or on a web conference such as Zoom.

Our team is also transforming volunteer training opportunities to be virtual. We’ll be hosting full 3-day volunteer training courses through Zoom in Houston & Atlanta. See dates and apply below to join our mighty community of survivors.
