Resources For Cancer Patients

While CanCare believes everyone can benefit from emotional support when facing cancer, we know that cancer can cause other issues that necessitate more practical assistance.  Whether you are seeking financial assistance, transportation, help with insurance, wigs, or mental health support, here are some organizations that may be able to help:

Help For Cancer Patients

Financial assistance

CancerCare offers counseling, support groups, education, and financial assistance.

CFAC is a coalition of organizations helping cancer patients manage their financial challenges.

The American Cancer Society Road To Recovery program provides transportation to and from treatment for people with cancer who do not have a ride or are unable to drive themselves.

Corporate Angel Network pairs empty seats – on both private and corporate planes – with qualified patients who need the rides… at no cost.

Healthcare Coverage/Insurance

It’s important to have health insurance when you or someone in your family has cancer, and to understand how to manage it.  Learn what you need to know here.

The Patient Advocate Foundation provides patient services, eliminating obstacles in access to quality healthcare.

WIG OUT helps women reclaim their feminine identity, confidence and dignity by providing quality wigs, headscarves, hats, toiletries, make-up and skincare tutorials to those suffering from the side effects of chemotherapy and other cancer treatments.

  • Y-ME, 800-221-2141
