Join us for our quarterly Speaker Series, developed to better assist the individuals our volunteers are supporting. The topics presented are designed to address the common issues our clients are facing and equip our volunteers and clients with additional resources, so that no one has to face cancer alone.

Quarterly Speaker Series: Supporting End of Life Issues

Wednesday, February 7, 2018

Chapelwood United Methodist Church

11140 Greenbay St, Houston, TX 77024

11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Keynote Speaker: Rev. Virgil Fry, Executive Director of Lifeline Chaplaincy

At some point in medical treatments, options can become quite limited or overly burdensome. Caregivers can get caught in the middle of major medical decisions and feel overwhelmed. This session will discuss issues dealing with end of life decisions, including how much medical care is appropriate, when it is time to consider palliative or hospice care, and how to have meaningful conversations with the one receiving treatment.

Attending this luncheon is an opportunity for our volunteers and congregations to gather and exchange ideas so that we can effectively serve a greater number of individuals battling cancer. All of our congregation representatives, volunteers and those they support are welcome to attend. Please feel free to invite anyone you think could benefit from this message.

Lunch will be provided for a $5 donation.

Kindly RSVP before January 31st to valerier@cancare.org
