Information is Empowering

“No one should have to suffer
alone with cancer.”

Darbe Gosda, CanCare volunteer

Darbe Gosda, kidney cancer survivor since 2001, Sandy Carr, prostate cancer survivor since 1990, and Don McLeod, bladder cancer survivor since 1990, make presentations throughout the community about CanCare's cancer support network.

Information is a powerful tool to have when battling cancer. CanCare provides one-time and long-term listening support, valuable information and referral to other resources available for those undergoing treatment for cancer. The CanCare office receives calls from those searching for information about cancer and resources that can help them navigate through their cancer experience. CanCare has strong relationships with many cancer organizations, both locally and nationally, and refers people to those resources that will best meet their needs. These organizations, as well as physicians, nurses, hospital social workers and the religious community also refer their constituents to CanCare for our unique services.

CanCare hosts educational events for clergy, healthcare professionals, corporations and the general public. CanCare gladly participates in corporate and community health fairs and conferences and welcomes speaking engagements to reach cancer patients, survivors and families in need.

To request a speaker or CanCare representative to attend your next event, you may call the CanCare office at 713.461.0028 or toll free at 1.888.461.0028, send an e-mail to
