CanCare is an interfaith volunteer cancer service rooted in the
religious community and enables congregations to provide a specialized
cancer outreach program to their congregants. CanCare
volunteers are people of faith serving as goodwill ambassadors
to others in need of CanCares services. Also, CanCare offers
educational materials, a resource library and referrals to speakers
including some of the most widely respected physicians in Houston.
CanCare was founded on the premise that God enters into the suffering
of people and that human life is holy and precious, to be measured
in richness and impact – not only in length.
Many of CanCares patient referrals come from member congregations.
In addition, cancer survivors and family members from member congregations
often train as CanCare volunteers.

Among many special events and programs offered to CanCares
member congregations is the
Annual Interfaith
Clergy Luncheon.
Clergy from all CanCare member congregations,
congregations interested in learning more about CanCares
cancer outreach programs and chaplains from area hospitals
are all invited to attend, but reservations are required.
