CanCare Partners

CanCare partners with more than 150 corporations, hospitals and congregations of varied faiths to offer our services to patients in the medical community, members of congregations and corporations with offices all over the world.

“Support from CanCare adds value to organizations by potentially decreasing absenteeism, stress and turnover, which typically leads to an increase in productivity and morale. CanCare is a valuable part of our benefit toolbox, and offers informational programs related to dealing with cancer in the workplace.”

Jack Moore, Chairman, President and CEO, Cameron

“We celebrate the faith and fellowship that leads so many people to volunteer to help others. When someone can turn their own difficult time into doing good for someone else, we can see God’s love and power at work.”

Jacqueline and The Reverend Jerry Martin, Pastors for Light of the World Christian Fellowship Church

“At Methodist, we celebrate the work of our incredible employees and doctors as well as the courage and inspiration of CanCare volunteers whose mission is to provide healing and hope to the community. Together, we give our patients the support they need to fight cancer.”

Ron Girotto, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Methodist Hospital System

Cancer has given more than it has taken from me.

Member Congregations

CanCare is an interfaith volunteer cancer service rooted in the religious community that enables houses of faith to provide a specialized cancer outreach program to their congregants. CanCare volunteers are people of faith serving as goodwill ambassadors to others in need of CanCare’s services.

Member Corporations

Studies show that one out of every four employees in a company will be diagnosed with cancer during their career. Many of them will choose to work while battling the disease. To help companies and their employees manage the personal and emotional cost of cancer, CanCare is taking its powerful message of Hope into the workplace through corporate partnerships.

Corporate partners help raise awareness of CanCare’s services by disseminating information, inviting CanCare to participate in workplace health events and encouraging employees affected by cancer to seek CanCare’s help or serve as CanCare volunteers.

CanCare provides:

  • Free, customized, confidential support to cancer patients and their family members

  • Support for associates in the workplace touched either directly or indirectly by cancer

  • Toolkits to help supervisors manage workgroups affected by cancer

  • Referrals to other cancer resources in the community

  •       Presentations at staff health and wellness fairs that the company organizes

  •       Lunch and learns that could include various educational and support topics

If your company is interested in creating a nurturing work environment and would like to offer CanCare’s services as a benefit to your employees, you may call the CanCare office at 713.461.0028/toll free at 1.888.461.0028, or send an e-mail to Valerie Ramirez at Valerier@cancare.org.
